And yet I still can't sleep. Having deferred uni to finally move the fuck out of home has left me with a bit of time off until full time work kicks in, and as such, I spend most mornings up till 4am or later, streaming either Seinfeld or Daria. Definitely too much of a good thing.
In other news, I should be moving out soon and hopefully will soon be in a new job. New bike coming my way when tax comes through (yessss) and now the biggest real conflict in my life is choosing what pedals to get for it. Float vs stiff as shit, I really don't know. Stiff as shit is looking like it will win out once more over soggy disengagement. Power transfer and speed > comfort.
All I need to do know to feel completely satisfied is to finally get my zine done. Layouts piss me off no end.
Soon to be hitting sydney for Morbid Angel. Stil super excited. Still wishing there was better support. I'm gonna use this space to ask anyone that has any of these issues of Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness to get in touch:
Picture Disc ('93 press)
Original CD issue
Original Tape Issue
Dualdisc (CD one side, DVD the other) issue
Would also appreciate any old zines with interviews (pre '94)

shit
Yo
I saw one of my best friends for the first time in a year or so on my birthday. He brought me beer. My parents bought me a skydive. I've been waking up fairly early every day for uni and shit is looking up, the return to regularity is more welcome than I could ever have expected. I am sleeping better, eating better and generally feeling better all over. I've stopped taking the zoloft without realising but I feel no real need to get back on it. Good week.
Aside from that, philosophy is the most boring shit I study, I've discovered that it's just one thing I really could not care less about being taught. It might be the other students involved but seriously, fuck that shit, right.
Andrew WK cover band soon

GATHERED FOR A SACRED RITE
I guess I haven't updated this in a while. Things are looking up since my last post, I got accepted into uni and I start tomorrow, going to be majoring in French and German, yew, language nerdery. On a slightly related note I saw French doom band Monarch last night and they were pretty good - distant female squeals, lots of reverb, stupidly slow tempo and a guitarist intent on doing the most elaborate arm swings before playing any note. I enjoyed it. Crashed at my friend Trevor's house in the ultimate of metal suburbia - Palmerston. Boring, almost prefab looking houses and no trees. desolate as all hell.
In record news I recently got my filthy mitts on both a first press copy AND grindcrusher splatter vinyl copy of Morbid Angel - Altars of madness in pretty much mint condition. Now I just have to persuade one of the few Canberra people in possession of test presses to sell them to me. I fucking love that record. If anyone out there has an Australian tour shirt (93 please) or any issues of Altars of Madness I don't send me a message and I will sort you out.
Aside from this, not much has happened of late - since my last visit to the head doctor I've become a lot more aware of my boredom at times and I feel sort of pathetic when Im not doing anything. My new wheels for the long planned cyclocross/light touring bike should be coming soon, as will the frame. I can't think of anything more fun than riding a bike completely ill suited to riding in the mud in the mud, so bring on the rain I say. Otherwise it's cross laps of the 24hour course. My third set of L's just expired, and I'm amped for another year or so of bike commuting.
